Anonymous asked: Hello Cheryl, thanks for letting people ask questions. I have been dating a wonderful man for a year. Just before we met, a month before, he had a radical prostatectomy. He is finally feeling comfortable to experiment with a pump. Due to some OCD issues, he tells me that he has issues with having to buy the lubricant. Finally, my question, does it really matter what lubricant we use if it is water based? It would save money, time, and I could easily purchase what we need. Thanks!
Water based is preferable. Personally and professionally I use ‘Liquid Silk’. You and purchase it online at Good Vibrations. com or Lubes.com. I’ve used the vacume pump with clients and found it helpful. It takes patience and practice, also a good sense of humor.
Warmly~~ Cheryl

MY NIGHT AT THE OSCARS cont. 2
I’ve received my first photo from Oscars Night. This was taken by the man I’m with. He is Tim McCarthy from ‘P Town’ Mass. I bumped into as I snuck into an area I was told I couldn’t re-enter once I’d left it. But, my friends were on the other side at the top of the main stair case watching the ‘beautiful people’ as they arrived, and I wanted to see them too! Tim was involved in the making of the Oscar nominated documentary ‘How to Survive an Epidemic’. Which I haven’t seen, but is at the top of my ‘must see’ list. Here we are:
While standing with him, Gavin Newsom and his lovely wife Jennifer walked by and I said, ‘Hi”!! Tim asked if he could take a photo and they graciously agreed. Here it is: The woman to my left is my friend Judi Levin, one of the producers of ‘The Session’. Off to do another interview for my book. I’ll be back later! Love~~~ Cheryl

My Night at the Academy Awards, cont.
I still don’t know how to start a post and save it until I’m ready to post. I don’t want you all to feel that was the end of what I have to say about Sunday evening. It may happen again, because I have a phone interview at 8:00AM for my book. This one is with Dr. Pat Baccili in Seattle, WA on Voice America Radio Network.
Back to the Academy Awards.
Stephen Nemeth turned to me at one point and said, “This is the best concert I’ve ever been to. We’ve seen ” Barbara”, “Adele”, Shirley Bassey, Jennifer Hudson and Nora Jones! How often do you get a chance to see all of them in one show?” I couldn’t imagine.
When Barbara walked out onto the stage and sang ‘The Way Were’ both of us chocked up. Stephen found a napkin in his popcorn box and gave it to me. She still has her beautiful voice and looked fabulous!
I have to sign off now.
I’ll be back with more about my evening later.

My Night At The Academy Awards
I must say I was surprised and happy to be able to attend the Oscar Celebration. There was only one ticket for me. We picking up my friend Stephen Nemeth, one of the two Producers of ‘The Sessions’, at his home in the Hollywood Hills, drove to the Dolby Theater, site of the award ceremony and Bob was taken to the Lure where the FOX Searchlight cocktail and viewing party. I met him there several hours later after the award ceremony and Governor’s Ball.
Stephan and I were walking the ‘red carpet’ at 3:30, much to early to see all the celebrities who arrived an hour later. I’d thought there would be a possibility for my family and friends to see me in my new grown, and Manolo Blahnik shoes. I naïvely thought I would be on the ground level where my family and friends might see me if the camera scanned my way, but that was also not to be. Stephan and I were sitting in the second balcony. Fortunately, our seats were on the isle close to the exit door, and not in the middle of the isle which provided us with an quick way to leave after the ceremony.

I’m Going to the Academy Awards Ceremony!!!!!
I can hardly believe it. I got an email from my Fox Searchlight contact saying that I have a ticket to the Academy Awards Ceremony. I really never expected I’d be able to attend. I’d been told that ‘The Sessions’ would have to be nominated in the category of ‘Best Picture’ for me to go, and when it wasn’t I thought, ‘Well it would have been wonderful for it to have been recognized for the beautiful movie it is.” Unfortunately that didn’t happen. When I received the email saying I could attend the Oscars, I thanked the Goddess of Miracles for still watching over me. I’m hoping she is watching over Helen Hunt as well, because she deserves to be acknowledged for her wonderful portrayal of my work as a Surrogate Partner. Now all I have to do is find a dress etc…..

Wow, Life Can Be Amazing!
This past year since attending the Sundance Film Festival in 2012 for the first viewing of ‘The Sessions’ has truly been amazing.
I’ve been whirling in the excitement the movie has generated and the wonderful reviews my book, ’An Intimate Life~~ Sex, Love and My Journey As A Surrogate Partner’ has received.
Many opportunities have opened up for me as a result of the release of both. I’m meeting many audiences I’ve not had the opportunity to speak with before, and hopeful that my message of Surrogate Partner Therapy’s true intent, will also open people’s minds to a different view of Sexuality rather than ‘the shame and guilt’ model that has been in place for centuries.
Within the past two weeks I have had the pleasure of doing 3 book signings, The first was on January 29th at Books Inc. on 4th St. here in Berkeley. It’s a lovely little book store I suggest you check out when your on 4th St. It was my first signing ever in an actual book store, and I was appropriately nervous, but the audience was filled with many old friends so I relaxed and got right into it.
My next event was at Book Passage in Corte Madera. I’d been there a year ago to attend a book signing and reading by my dear friend Elizabeth Spinner’s brother-in-law John M. Barry who’s most recent book ‘Roger Williams and The Creation of the American Soul ~~ Church, State and the Birth of Liberty’, had just been published. I’d thought to myself, “Wouldn’t it be great to be able to do this someday with my book.” And there I was a year later doing just that. There were many old friends and many people I didn’t know, but again the audience was very receptive and open to my message. I suggest you check out this great bookstore when you’re in Marin and at their bookstore in San Francisco at the Ferry Building.
This past week I was at Booksmith Book Store in San Francisco twice. First on Tuesday to do a book signing then on Friday to participate with a wonderful group of young artist / actors / clowns who perform at Booksmith the second Friday of each month. Here’s how to find them on Face Book
http://www.facebook.com/LiteraryClownFoolery
I suggest you call Booksmith 415-863-8688 to check on their upcoming appearances. I saw many single people as well as couples in the audience enjoying a glass of wine and snacks, that were available, while watching and sharing in the fun. I kept thinking what great conversations they could have after the show. Friday nights topic was ‘On Line Dating’. It was presented hilariously by this wonderful ensemble of ‘Clowns’!
I plan to visit Booksmith again. They have many sections and the one on the ‘Hippie Era’ I found particularly interesting since I was a card carrying member.
By the way ‘The Sessions’ will be out on DVD February 12th and is available ‘On Demand’ right now for those of you who’ve said they want to wait until it became available in this format.
With Love~~~~ Cheryl

Anonymous asked: Of all the input you had into the making of "The Sessions," how accurate was the anger/blow-up of your "husband" upon your receiving the Mark's poem, and do you find yourself experiencing the tears and loss at the end of working with a client as was shown in the scene in the car?
My husband wasn’t a jealous person and would never have done that. I liked Mark very much. We remained friends until his death in 1999.

Anonymous asked: Okay, here goes. Why is it, when I masturbate, or try to, the very next day I have raised, red bumps there which are irritating. No, it's not herpes, years ago I had that checked out because I thought it was but nonetheless it always happens after I masturbate so that I am fearful of doing so again. Of course I didn't tell the doctor what the bump was from. Bad enough she had to look there and I had to point it out, I wasn't about to add embarassment to how it got there.
If you’re using lubrication when you masturbate, try another. My favorite is
Liquid Silk. I buy it at Good Vibrations and or, Lubes.com
If you’re not, I suggest using some. Warmly~~ Cheryl

Good interview about my profession, except!
I enjoyed this interview except for the line about my work involving being paid to have sex with my clients, as if that’s the main focus of our sessions. It’s not! Over coming sexual myths, and unrealistic expectations, lack of listening and touching skills etc….. are equally important components of SPT (Surrogate Partner Therapy).

Your Ugly Vagina Is Normal & Gorgeous. (Adult)
This is an interesting article,BUT it just goes to show that Surgeons have created a problem where there is none. How? By intimating there is is a perfect Vulva, Yes it’s not the Vagina. What’s on the outside of the Vagina, which is inside a woman’s body. is the Vulva. It’s the doorway to what I tell my clients, The Temple of the Goddess’. Many men are concerned about the size of their penis, and now, unfortunately, when women are starting to look at their own genitals, many are becoming obsessed anxious that they don’t look ‘right’ . I suggest you check out two books I use in my Surrogate Partner Therapy practice: Femalia and Petals (wonderful photos of many different Vulvas. I’m sure you’ll find some similar to yours.
I’d like to know who started this. Who ever they are, don’t listen to them. Were all beautifully different. Don’t let some MD destroy your Vulval Sensitivity by operating on it’s exquisite tissue. Love~~~ Cheryl
